Annual event returns Dec. 6 with parade, snow and a visit from Santa
TEMPLE CITY, CA (Nov. 27, 2019)—The holiday season may feel like it’s in full swing already, but it hasn’t truly begun until the lights go on.
This year, guests of the annual Lights on Temple City will see the city’s 100-foot redwood tree be illuminated on Friday, Dec. 6, during an event held from 5-9 p.m. at Temple City Park, 9701 Las Tunas Dr.
The family-friendly celebration will feature a whopping 40 tons of snow, complete with four sled runs and two play areas for the kids.
As always, Santa Claus will be on hand to pose for photos and spend time with the children. Youngsters will also be able to take home holiday crafts and even have Santa’s elves make their favorite balloon animals.
A holiday parade will begin at 7 p.m. and proceed along Las Tunas Drive. Santa will make a splashy entrance into Temple City Park, followed by the tree lighting.
Live entertainment will be provided by the Temple City High School Brighter Side Singers and Temple City High School Marching Band. Holiday food treats will be available for purchase.
Las Tunas Drive will be closed to traffic between Cloverly and Golden West avenues from 5-8 p.m. to accommodate the parade, and parking along that stretch will be prohibited between 4-8 p.m.
