Holidays Will Impact These City Services
Modified services and schedules to take effect beginning Thursday, Dec. 12.
TEMPLE CITY, CA (Dec. 5, 2019) — The upcoming holiday season will affect Temple City municipal operations, with office closures and modified schedules spanning Dec. 12 through Jan. 6. Please note that emergency services will remain active at all times.
Early Office Closure: On Thursday, Dec. 12, all city administrative offices will close at 4 p.m. for an employee holiday party. Offices will reopen Friday, Dec. 13, at 7:30 a.m.
Holiday Office Closures: All city administrative offices will be closed Tuesday, Dec. 24, Wednesday, Dec. 25, and Wednesday, Jan. 1. For critical city services requests, call Temple Sheriff’s Station at (626) 285-7171.
Live Oak Park Community Center: Live Oak Park Community Center will operate on a modified schedule of 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 24, and Wednesday, Jan. 1. Regularly scheduled programming for both days is canceled. The center will be closed Wednesday, Dec. 25. More info: (626) 579-0461.
Parking Enforcement: Beginning at midnight on Sunday, Dec. 15, through 5 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 6, the City will not require overnight parking permits. All other parking restrictions, including those on oversize vehicles, will remain in effect. Parking citations will still be issued on street sweeping days as posted. Trash Collection and Street Sweeping: Trash collection and street sweeping will not occur Wednesday, Dec. 25, and Wednesday, Jan. 1. For those with scheduled Wednesday sweeping and trash collection days, services will be provided on the next scheduled service day. More info: (888) 336-6100.
Dial-A-Ride: The City’s low-cost transportation service for seniors and those with disabilities will operate on a modified holiday schedule of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 25, and Wednesday, Jan. 1. Appointments are required; to schedule a ride, call (626) 286-2456.
Animal Control: Contracted services provided by the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society will operate on a modified schedule of 8 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, Dec. 24. Their offices are closed Wednesday, Dec. 25, and Wednesday, Jan. 1. To report stray animals during office closures, call Temple Sheriff’s Station at (626) 285-7171.
Christmas Tree Disposal: Beginning Thursday, Dec. 26, through Monday, Jan. 6, residents—at no additional charge—can place their whole, undecorated tree (please cut trees taller than 6 feet) at the curb on their regular trash collection day. Flocked trees and those with decorations and tree stands will not be collected. More info: (888) 336-6100.
Public Meetings: The scheduled Planning Commission meeting for Tuesday, Dec. 24, is canceled; the same goes for the Transportation and Public Safety Commission meeting scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 25. Both commissions are expected to convene at their next scheduled meetings in January.
