The show will go on! This year’s Temple City’s Got Talent (TCGT) has evolved into a virtual program, and we’re seeking out the best and brightest talents in and around Temple City.

Participation is free and open to performers ages 6 and up. Awards will be given to the top three contestants in three age categories—6-11, 12-17 and 18+—and a special People’s Choice prize will go to the performance that receives the most votes.

To participate, please complete our online application and upload a video of your show-ready performance by 5 p.m. on Friday, May 29, 2020. Submissions that are selected for the program will be edited into a larger video set to air online on Friday, June 5th at 7:00pm on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter and the City cable channel 3 (Charter subscribers). Voting for the People’s Choice Award will commence following the show.

The Award Show for Temple City’s Got Talent will air the following week on Friday, June 12th at 7:00pm on the same platforms. Awards for the top 3 in each age category will be announced along with the People’s Choice Award. We are looking forward to see the best talents our Temple Citians have to offer!

  • In all cases, the decisions of the judges are final.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR VIDEO SUBMISSIONS

  • Record your video horizontally.
  • Position yourself facing a window or outside. If bright lights are on behind you, turn them off.
  • Look into the lens.
  • If using a smartphone, tap your image/face on the phone so that the camera will properly focus.
  • Leave a little room above your head and aim to include at least your head and shoulders in the frame.
  • To be heard clearly, record somewhere with limited background noise. If possible, ask someone to hold the camera for you or utilize a tripod.
