Honoring outstanding Older Americans has been a Temple City tradition for over 50 years. The tradition continued with the recognition of Connie Deckon, longtime volunteer with the Camellia festival and various service organizations. Connie was recognized be the City of Temple City at the May 4th City Council meeting in conjunction of the recognition of Older Americans month. She was also recognized by the County of Los Angeles during a virtual awards ceremony on May 27, 2021.
Connie is an amazing woman with the most wonderful Smile. She focuses on others and those in her presence feel special. She is energetic, always ready to help and ready to do whatever is needed to be done. She is the epitome of living life to its fullest. It is astonishing how Connie finds the time to work, volunteer, and balance that with loving and caring for her family and friends.
Congratulations Connie for being recognized as Temple City’s Outstanding Older American of the Year!
