Lunar New Year
Temple City Celebrates Lunar New Year
Join us as we celebrate the Lunar New Year 2022, Year of the Water Tiger! We will be celebrating the new year by decorating the Performing Arts Pavilion with Lunar New Year themed decorations. In addition, the city will be hosting a year of the Water Tigers scavenger hunt the week of January 31 to February 4, 2022. The celebration will continue with a Year of the Water Tiger art contest open to the younger members of the community. Join with us as we re-imagined the 2022 Lunar New Year celebration as we strive to keep the community safe during the celebration season. Please take a moment to check out all the festivities and activities in Temple City listed below.
The City of Temple City will be decorating the city’s Performing Arts Pavilion located at Temple City Park with festive décor. The pavilion will be decorated with traditional lanterns and accents of red and gold to bring in the new year. In the evening the pavilion will have special lighting to commemorate the Lunar New Year.
Tiger Scavenger Hunt
The City of Temple City will be hosting a Tiger Scavenger Hunt the week of January 31st to February 4th. Each week tigers will be placed around the city at local parks and business window fronts in Temple City. Clues for the location of the special tigers will be posted on the city's Lunar New Year webpage on January 31st and each day after. Be the first to locate the special tiger each day, take a selfie and email it to the Parks and Recreation Department at email@example.com. Winners will be notified the same day and prizes can be scheduled for pick-up at the Community Center.
