LEAD Program
LEAD PROGRAM
The Leadership Education and Development program (LEAD) facilitates opportunities for middle school and high school students ages 12–17 years old to earn volunteer service-learning hours, develop confidence in leadership skills through a mentorship program, and learn about educational and future career opportunities. In addition to accruing community service hours needed for school, participants will develop a variety of leadership skills aimed at creating positive impacts in the Temple City Community.
Our Mission
To provide a supportive platform that encourages open dialogue, collaboration, and skill-building, enabling young leaders to identify and address the unique needs of our community. Through diverse leadership experiences and service opportunities, we aim to instill in our participants a deep understanding of civic responsibility and the importance of making a positive impact in their community.
Key Principles
- Empowerment: We believe in empowering our youth by providing a safe and inclusive space that nurtures their self-confidence, creativity, and critical thinking. By offering guidance and mentorship, we encourage our members to embrace their unique strengths and develop leadership qualities.
- Community Engagement: We are committed to fostering a strong sense of community among our youth leaders. Through active involvement in various community projects and events, we aim to instill a sense of pride and ownership in the betterment of Temple City.
- Skill Development: Recognizing the importance of continuous growth, we provide comprehensive training and workshops that equip our members with essential leadership skills, including communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and decision-making.
- Sustainable leadership: Our aim is to create a sustainable and long-lasting legacy of leadership within our community. We inspire our members to be role models and mentors to future generations of youth, passing on the torch of leadership and service.
