[ARCHIVED] Temple City Municipal Election on March 3, 2015

The next Temple City General Municipal Election is on March 3, 2015. Three seats on the City Council will be expiring, with two incumbent seats eligible for reelection.

The City Council is comprised of five Councilmembers elected at large for four-year terms. Terms are staggered—i.e., two members are elected in one election year, and three members in the next. Councilmembers also serve on the Temple City Successor Agency to the former Community Redevelopment Agency.

The candidate nomination period begins Nov. 10 and closes Dec. 5 at 6 p.m. Candidates must be registered voters and residents of Temple City for at least one year preceding the date of the election. If nomination papers for an incumbent officer are not filed by Dec. 5 voters shall have until Dec. 10, to nominate candidates other than incumbents.

To pull nomination papers to nominate a candidate, please make an appointment with the City Clerk’s Office. The process takes approximately 30-45 minutes. Please call (626) 285 2171 ext. 2316. Business hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m.

Following the election, elected representatives will be installed in office on March 17, 2015.
